2015 was the year my life fell apart. I was saving up to get my first house, looking for a new job, and planning big things. Instead my health failed, causing me to give up on having a job for a while and slowly see all my savings spent on tests while I live with my parents (every 30 year old’s dream!) But you know what? It’s going to be okay. You know why? Because…PUPPIES!

That’s just what I say when I don’t know the answer. Because puppies are distracting and adorable!

The truth is that I don’t know why everything’s going to be okay either. But that’s what everyone keeps saying, so we’ll just go with it. I once saw a button that said, “When life hands you lemons, make apple juice, just to confuse everyone.” So I think that’s what I hope this blog will be: confusing. Weird. Mis-informative.

Me, I’m a little weird. I don’t have any credentials or anything (Once on a date, I told the guy I was a little weird and he said, “Prove it!”  Not sure what he expected me to do. Spoiler alert: we didn’t work out). But stick with this blog and I’m sure you’ll agree I don’t have a weird streak; I have a weird majority.

I have depression, which makes me love to laugh and make people laugh. I also have celiac disease, which means I can’t skype with you while you’re eating toast.

More than anything, I am a writer. I love writing fiction novels. My grandmother was Joan Lowery Nixon, who made a living writing, so it’s in my genes. Although she wrote mysteries and I’ve settled on sci-fi.  One book published so far, a sci-fi novella called “First Grave on Mars”.

I hope I can make you smile sometimes.
